Branchiosaurus

Branchiosaurus is an extinct genus of amphibian that lived during the Late Triassic period, around 210 million years ago. It is a member of the group of amphibians called temnospondyls, which were among the most common and diverse amphibians of the Triassic period. Branchiosaurus had a broad, flat head with large, pointed teeth, and a long, slender body with four limbs. It is believed to have lived in freshwater environments, such as streams and ponds, and may have been primarily aquatic. The name "Branchiosaurus" means "gill lizard," referring to the gill-like structures on the side of its head that were used for breathing.
